Making Squirrel Stew: BIG SQUIRREL HUNTER

Published on Dec 31, 2012
Alright, time to cook a few squirrels in a delightful stew in the style of Brunswick (ingredients below). Watch Nevis as he boils and then debones the squirrels. This recipe has been handed down generations and seems to bring out the best in a mess of squirrels. There is a lot to this recipe, and it should take a few hours to do right. Here is a list of the ingredients for your convenience:

1 lb. bacon (reserve the grease)
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 TSP. black pepper
4 cups chopped potato
1 bay leaf
1/2 cup salt (for soaking)
1 can lima beans (omitted in video)
2 big cans of whole tomatoes
2 cans of kernel corn
3 cloves garlic (omitted in video)

This is episode 15 in the "Big Squirrel Hunter" series. Thanks for watching, and if you like this video, please click like and please subscribe. Please post comments, they mean a lot to us. Please also help us get the word out by, commenting and re-posting it on your favorite social media. These videos aim to educate while spreading joy and happiness through promotion of hunting and good music. The series covers everything from hunting, calling and shooting to skinning, cleaning and cooking squirrels. All animals harvested in this series were taken legally, ethically and with the purpose of both food & sport. Nevis Walker does not condone the killing of ANY animal without, at least, the traditional purpose of food or utility. Don't forget to check out bigsquirrelhunter.com and neviswalker.com too.
